Dr. Achih H. Chen, Founder and Director of The Georgia Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, is a nationally recognized leader in aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery. Raised in the heartland of Iowa, Dr. Chen developed a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to excellence early in life—working as a bicycle mechanic throughout junior high and high school and spending summers as a farm laborer during college and even in the early years of medical school. These formative experiences shaped the precision, discipline, and dedication that define his surgical practice today.

A top scholar, Dr. Chen graduated in the top 5% of his class at the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. He continued his training at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine before being selected—out of a competitive national pool—for residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa, then ranked the No. 1 program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

He further advanced his expertise through elite subspecialty training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the renowned Lasky Clinic in Los Angeles, affiliated with UCLA and widely known for its celebrity clientele.

Dr. Chen went on to serve as Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia, where he helped train future leaders in the field. He has contributed to national board certification efforts by writing examination questions for the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (ABOto-HNS) as a member of the Task Force for New Materials and serving as an examiner for the Facial Plastic Surgery section oral board certification exam for the ABOto-HNS.

A pioneer in facial rejuvenation, Dr. Chen’s groundbreaking Total Face® Rejuvenation technique earned national recognition when he was featured on the syndicated television program The Doctors.
